One of our stops on the Taste Porto food tour, we had their famous bifana and the espadal. Our guide also made us try gizzard and it was delicious! This spot is a very casual, hole in the wall, with solid food. There is no table service, you order and pick up at the bar. They have Portuguese classics, such as pig ear, tripe and gizzards. Of course we highly recommend bifana, it is a pork sandwich with bread that is dipped in sauce. One tip, do not order water bottle, they will embarrass you and ring the bell very loud! This is because the water in Porto you can safely drink without problem. So for those ordering water, they will ring their loud bell! Highly recommend, and hubby loved this spot!

Cheap but tasty sandwiches, nice staff, cute outdoor and indoor seating. We got ham and cheese sandwiches for just a few euro, and we upgraded 1 to have the franchesinha sauce on top. At the conclusion of our meal, they offered for free shots of honeymel (traditional fire water in an unmarked bottle). Although it's mainly made from honey and water, be prepared for the fire. If you're not in a strong state for alcohol, do NOT have it. It took me a minute to speak afterward and I was totally in a good state to begin with. They do accept credit card. The waiter told us that they just opened, so I'm not sure if the place has been re-opened since the older reviews on here.

Saw this in Rick Steve's guide book. Amazingly affordable sandwiches. That costs 2 to 3 euros. Made with a crusty almost hamburger sized bun and depending on what you order can come with their cured ham and a sunny side up egg or cheese. My daughter had the breaded chicken cutlet which was good and my wife had the spicy Portuguese beef which was also quite good and only slightly spicy. They have a good selection of beer and wine all for less than 2 euros each. Water and sparkling water are also less then 1.5 euros but they subject you to bell ringing for each non alcoholic drink you purchase. Being underage (my kids) gets you no sympathy. Overall a great place and well worth the walk

We randomly found this place in a rainstorm and loved it! We ate dinner here and the food was fresh and fast. We had the octopus salad, olive plate, and ham and cheese sandwiches.

A nice bar that offer delicious sandwiches, as well as a variety of salad, soup and cold dishes. You can see the different type of salads in the case, and they are generous to let us try a little bit to decide which ones we want to order. If you are adventurous, they have the Porto specialty, tripe soup, and pig ear salad. Soup is really hot and totally hit the point on a cold day. Don't order water, they'll ring the bell to shame you! At least that's what they told me they'd do when I asked about the bell. : D

Solid sandwiches at affordable prices. Avoid the ham and get the pork dishes. Staff is great. Ask for takeaway if you aren't eating in the market.

A diamond in the rough. Unassuming but delicious. Cool, modern space with meat drying above and in a mesh cabinet. Sandwiches are inexpensive but quite tasty. An early addition to the revival of downtown Porto.
